Walks, coffee and my old friend

I think I am surviving these days thanks to: walks in the parks, take-away coffee and my camera. It is a well-know fact that physical activity and things that we enjoy have a very positive impact on our well-being. Similar messages are probably popping up at you from many corners but I do admit it really works for us or at least for me. We walk a lot in our local parks these days, I drink a lot of take-away coffee and I also take lots of photos of these repetitive lockdown days.

Most of the time, I have my old camera with me, my Nikon D3100 with 35mm prime lens. It is a very old friend, bought many many years ago (almost 10 years ago!). When we are getting ready for our walks, I throw my poor old friend to the bag (mind you, not a camera bag) and it often shares the space with some other very important items like tissues, wipes or spare socks (for my boys of course).

And when the boys are not too annoyed that I have my camera in my hand again, I walk, follow my children and document the passing time. Here is one example from our walk in Marley Park, enjoy and if you can, bring your camera for a walk too.

"Michaela Mac Donnell came to our house one sunny Sunday morning and spent a few hours with us capturing our life as a new family. She is such a lovely person and so easy to work with. It was like having a friend in the house as opposed to a stranger and she just observed us and took photos, with as little intervention as possible. Her use of natural light, beautiful composition and ability to capture the best of us meant I got exactly what I was looking for and far more beyond that. Thank you Michaela.
