The Magic of Killruddery Gardens

Last Sunday we finally visited Killruddery House and Gardens after more than a year. This is such a beautiful family friendly place so I don’t even know where to start to tell you how great it is.

If your little ones love playing with sand (and also water), they will really enjoy the sandpit area. When you enter the gardens, you just turn right, go through the magnolia tree tunnel, pass the little green house and then you will see it.

We usually arrive at the opening time of 9:30am and start with the sandpit. It is not that busy at that time and great for the start of our trip. You can also grab a coffee just beside the sandpit. A win-win situation for all parents, children play and you enjoy the coffee in peace (well, we are talking about minutes, not hours of course.)

Last week we also tried the ice-cream there and we all agreed that we have not tasted a more delicious strawberry ice-cream in a good while.

When the place around the sandpit gets a bit busier or we feel it is the right time for a walk, we head to the main garden. If you are a garden lover like I am, pencil this place to your diary right now. I think the images below will say it all. What a beautiful place it is and how lucky we are to have a place like it so close to Dublin.

"Michaela Mac Donnell came to our house one sunny Sunday morning and spent a few hours with us capturing our life as a new family. She is such a lovely person and so easy to work with. It was like having a friend in the house as opposed to a stranger and she just observed us and took photos, with as little intervention as possible. Her use of natural light, beautiful composition and ability to capture the best of us meant I got exactly what I was looking for and far more beyond that. Thank you Michaela."ย
