When I was getting ready for this maternity photo shoot in Palmerston Park, I did a little trip down memory lane and thought about my own first pregnancy. Just a few weeks before my due date with my first son, I met with my friend and she said I should have some maternity photos taken. It was almost the end of my third trimester and busy with life and busy with getting the ‘nest’ ready for my little boy, I thought I had no time for any photos of myself. Luckily, my friend insisted and one sunny afternoon we met. She took my camera and took some photos of ‘huge’ me in front of some trees and bushes in blossom (I was expecting my first son in June).
I was the worst model ever and I had no hope for the photos. I could not really look at the photos at that time as I felt just too big, too imperfect and not wearing the right clothes (nothing really fitted me at that time and I am not mentioning the problems with shoes). But the truth is that we evolve and change. We become less critical about ourselves with the passing years and I am so happy that the photos were taken. At that time I was so conscious about things that I no longer worry about. Whenever I look at my photos, I can see how young and happy I was, exactly like my lovely clients I met for this photo shoot. Thank you so much for letting me share these images here.
The blue balloon accidently flew away, but at least I documented it all. I hope that one day the little one will be the big one and he will be looking at these photos too, thinking about his mum and dad, how beautiful and happy they were, waiting patiently for him to arrive.

Maternity photo shoots – when is the best time to meet?
There are no strict rules about when to book a maternity/pregnancy photo shoot but from my own experience, the best time for pregnancy photos is between 30-36 weeks. This time is ideal as your belly will be already nice and round and you will still feel comfortable (hopefully, as each pregnancy is soo different). If you would like to know more about my maternity photo shoots, feel free to get in touch for my Maternity and Newborn Brochure – you can click HERE.
If you are thinking about a maternity photo shoot just for yourself, feel free to have a look HERE for another example of maternity photos, this time it is only the mum and the beautiful surroundings of Botanic Garden in Dublin.
